Using a smudge stick is part of many Native American traditions. The burning of herbs is for emotional, psychic, and spiritual purification. The ritual of smudging can be defined as "spiritual house cleaning." The smoke attaches itself to negative energy and as the smoke clears it takes the negative energy with it, releasing it into another space where it will be regenerated into positive energy.
The smudge stick is approximately 10 inches long and is made of sage. Instructions on the use of smudge sticks is included.
Hints on smudging
It is not required to speak when smudging. If you feel you would like to speak, sing or pray while smudging, there are numerous selections to be found on the internet.
To be most effective you must smudge every ten to fourteen days.
Most important, you must smudge every area of the home or business. Be thorough, do every area attached garages, closets , attics, and basements.
